Washington DC - On February 11, 2013, Voices for National Service along with The Corps Network hosted an awards reception to recognize national and local leaders for their support of national service. Among the honorees were former President Bill Clinton, Arianna Huffington, Senators Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Representative Tom Latham (R-IA).

OCEAN SPRINGS -- At a special luncheon Wednesday at Phoenicia restaurant, DOT USA's TeachUp! program honored people and affiliates who have shown a strong commitment to the program.

The development director of DOT USA, said the program has been in operation for six years and has served almost every school district in the state's lower six counties.

He said his program recruits and trains technology interns, then places them in public schools where they serve as technology coaches for teachers.

The CSpire Foundation of Ridgeland, Mississippi has awarded a $10,000 grant to Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) USA to support the work of five TeachUp! Interns serving in the North Panola School District, which has schools in Sardis, Como, and Crenshaw, Mississippi.
